This course meets Cal OSHA’s requirement 1532.3 for training employees who may be exposed to respirable crystalline silica in construction work.
Prior to starting work on any construction project, Fed & Cal OSHA require a Competent Person to assess the conditions at the jobsite to determine if respirable silica may be present. Employers are required to have a plan for dealing with this hazard. Significant fines are now levied for non-compliance with this new regulation. This regulation took effect on October 23rd, 2017.
Learning objectives cover engineering controls and how to use PPE as well as the exceptions where employee exposure will remain below 25 micrograms per cubic meter of air (25 μg/m3) as an 8-hour time-weighted average (TWA) under any foreseeable conditions.Course time 4 hours. Train the Trainer also available in a 1 day workshop setting.
